New Year’s is a time for resolutions. I’m not normally one for lots of resolutions. But, as I get older, I have less time on earth left to do the important things. So here are my top 20 resolutions for 2010:
- Read a book a month.
- Write one short story a month.
- Work out and get fit so that I can enjoy my polo as much as I deserve to.
- Ride more often and use each ride to school my ponies.
- Stick and Ball at least six times before a tournament.
- Form my own teams when I play important tournaments.
- Take my course designing to a new level.
- Take my wife on dates.
- Play music with my kids.
- Go to more concerts with my family.
- Spend quality time with my parents.
- Take a family holiday with no horses in sight.
- Be more patient especially with people who lack the language skills to understand me.
- Do more charity.
- Travel to at least two new places I have never been to this year.
- Work smarter and get paid for all the good work that I do.
- Drop the “friends” who expect freebies all the time.
- Don’t sell myself short.
- Forgive those who unintentionally wronged me in 2009
- Spend more time with my true friends.
As Yoda famously said, “Do or do not. There is no try.”
For those of you who are my friends on facebook, you’ll find a full, complete and unexpurgated version of these resolutions in my notes.
