Anky, Ulla and Isabelle in Malaysia!

What are Anky, Ulla and Isabelle doing at the Malaysian Open? Performing a musical ride of course! That would be Anky Ambak, Ulla Bura and Isabelle Radinal, famous South East Asian jumpers who put on quite a display of their dressage skills. Serious dressage riders need not worry if these beauties switch disciplines.

Quzier, Sunetr and Rafiq did put their real skills to good use though, popping their horses out over the dressage arena fence after their final salute.

Holy Mackerel

Related to Jump-Off from a contributor in Brunei:

It was only my second ever riding lesson and the Indonesian instructor was screaming at me “Raising Trout. Raising Trout. You do the Raising Trout.” Of course I had no idea what “raising trout” meant. It was only later that found out I was supposed to learn “raising trout” before I learnt “sitting trout.”

NID

Related to Jump-Off from an official at the endurance rides in KK:

“She was this Sabahan beauty working as an official at one of the endurance races in KK. She had a big, ample bosom and she was wearing this T-Shirt that said in large letter’s – NID. And below it, in small letters it said, “Nine Inch Dick.”

These Sabahan’s really know how to organise the entertainment at their races, don’t they.

Sanna sends 30 horses for MEM

The Malaysian Equine Council, with support from the Malaysian Totalisator Board, has bought 30 horses through Australian agent George Sanna. The horses arrived in Kuala Lumpur on 25th July 2002, accompanied by Husref Malik, who is based in Australia near Sanna’s yard. Sanna arrived a day later to see that the horses are settled well in their new environment.

These horses will be distributed to deserving equestrian centres in Malaysia, most notably to the newly resurrected Indra Mahkota Polo Club in Kuantan, Pahang and University Putra Malaysia.

Whiphand

Nina Melkonian is always very fast in jump-offs, and it could be because she rides a whip. We thought it appropriate to have this photo of Nina, with her whip, in our Jump-Off.

'Nuff said.
