Asean Solidarity
Not only Malaysians celebrated Merdeka Day by flying the Jalur Gemilang.
Thai rider Sunter Burakasikorn gave it a whirl in the warm-up arena of the SEA World Cup League Final show on Merdeka Day.
How’s that for Asean solidarity?
What’s in a name?
It’s a childish snigger, we know, but Jump-Off just couldn’t ignore the French Three Day Event team rider and horse that has been entered for the World Equestrian Games 2002. And the name of the rider and horse?

Alla-mak!
What kind of a jumping class is an A2, Clear Round, with Jump-Off? We don’t know either, because an A2 is a one-round speed class. A Clear Round is a one-round competition with no jump-off. And a Jump-Off, well, there are two types: there is the tie-breaker type where riders tied for 1st place go against the clock against each other. The other type is where you go on the Internet to read about the nonsense that goes on in the Land of the Blind.
NewLongkang
The National Horse Show’s Grand Derby course built at the infield of the Selangor Turf Club’s racetrack has quite a number of natural features, including banks, a water complex, dykes and ditches. After a heavy downpour, one of the ditches (longkang) filled with muddy water, prompting the suggestion that since the course designer for the Grand Derby is a Singaporean, the ditch be called the NeWater Jump.
Jump-Off, of course, doesn’t find this very funny.
Message from the hottest, the hunkiest...
To all those who have voted for me as the hottest babe in the Philippine squad, thank you. As of this writing, I am also leading as the hunkiest rider available. This is what you call having the best of both worlds!
