Long awaited, back after an almost two-month sabbatical, Equestrian.Com.My’s best read section jumps back with another baaad edition. No Jump-Off is complete without a reference to the Land of the Blind.
Welcome, Feanor Ridzuan
Dressage rider Zahari ‘Jay’ Zainal introduced his new son, Feanor Ridzuan, to the world of horse shows at the FEI World Dressage Challenge supported by PSI, at SP&RC. Feanor Ridzuan was born on 24th August 2002 to Jay and Sharina.
For the record, Jay finished third Kathmandu in the Novice section, behind Katharina Khor on Sequel and Margaret Robinson on Hannigan.
What a honeymoon!
Indonesian World Cup jumper Budi Tulodo has finally tied the knot. Jump-Off and Equestrian.Com.My send our congratulations to Budi and Jessica McKenna on their marriage. It was registered in America, with the Akad Nikah ceremony in Jakarta held on the same day as the Equestrian Commission of Indonesia’s 2002 Championships. A true rider, Budi still started the main 125 cm class of the Championship on Dark Mellow just after the Akad Nikah. And won it.
Bosan or Busan
In between the hullabaloo of protests and appeals, life was so boring in the Asian Games village that some riders went out and bought a Sony Play station to keep them occupied. South East Asian countries won 2 golds, a silver and a bronze, its best ever showing in equestrian sports at the Asian games. Jump-Off wonders if any riders were practicing their skills playing horse-riding games on the PS2.
Selle Francais to TUDM
15 horses from Land of the World Champions, have arrived in Malaysia for the newly revived Malaysian Armed Forces Equestrian Centre. Capt Rashidi is the main man there. Amanda Garran has been appointed as one of the trainers there.
VIW’s Greatest Achievements
It’s getting tiresome, we know, but no Jump-Off would be complete without some reference to the Land of the Blind. So this is it. The very last reference to the Land of the Blind. At least till the next irresistible anecdote.
Jump-Off was besieged with messages supporting VIW after the last Jump-Off. (Please see Jump-Off VIII.) Actually we didn’t receive even one message of support for VIW, though we can say we did receive a very large response, so to speak, from the Land of the Blind.
Anyway, we thought we’d give the guy a(nother) chance and so we came up with a list of his all-time greatest equestrian achievements, befitting of his status as a VIW. As you can imagine it’s a mega-massive list, so we’ve had to add it as a word file that you can download. To download this file in Internet Explorer, right click and choose "Save Target As..." For Netscape, right click on the link below and choose "Save Link As...".
