Who had all the chockies?
Some guests at the recent RDA Malaysia’s Charity Dinner had to have alternatives rather than the advertised chocolates. A rather tipsy guest went back into the depths of the Shangri-La kitchens and proceeded to scoff the dessert chocolates before they were served. She got through about 5 tables worth of chocolate before anyone could stop her. Obviously inebriated, she was put in a cab and sent home....only to return to the party! If you are wondering who she was, she’s the same one who later waddled on stage and fell over while trying to sing. Serves her right for whacking all that chocolate.
Penangitis
Perhaps stung by Jump-Off XVI’s dig at the use of the title of Annual Horse Show for a show that had never been held before, the General Manager of the Penang Turf Club announced that the club would host another “Annual” show next year, which would make it, therefore…, yes, annual.
The National Horse Show is expected to rotate to Penang next year. You could count the National Horse Show as their annual show but could you count it as The Annual Show? You could, as the man said, if they had two shows next year, the Annual Show and the National Horse Show, then the Annual Show would indeed be annual. Next year. Geddit?
Los Lobos
The South East Asian World Cup League Committee comprises of Chairman Rafiq Radinal (INA), Dato’ Mahammad Fathil (MAS), Ian Salway (INA), N Y Ho (SIN) and Sunetr Burakasikorn (THA).
With Rafiq Radinal and N Y Ho’s recent exclusions from their national federations (the Equestrian Commission of Indonesia and the Equestrian Federation of Singapore respectively), it just so happens that EVERYONE on the so-called SEA World Cup League Committee just happens NOT to be on their national federations.
No wonder the CSI-W SEA League Final gets scheduled on the same weekend as CSI**** KLIS
KLIS me once, KLIS me twice,
Is it really true that the Finance Minister II, President of EAM and Organising Chairman of KLIS, Datuk Dr Jamaluddin Jarjis was overheard to ask, “Is it still on?”
NATO Games
It’s now June, and with nothing done by the powers that be, and despite all the good intentions, the South East Asian Equestrian Games cannot possibly happen in September this year. Some horse owners (usually racing/betting types) believe that a change of name can bring a change of luck.
Jump-Off suggests that instead of calling it the SEA Equestrian Games, we call this the NATO Equestrian Games – No Action Talk Only.

What’s a Grading Card?
In the rules of the 1st Annual Penang Horse Show (sic), it was stated that all competitors had to bring their horse’s grading cards along with them. (Or what, risk disqualification?)
Jump-Off conducted an unofficial poll of some of the riders there. Only two riders knew that the EAM actually used to issue Grading Cards. None of the riders we spoke with had ever seen a grading card in their lives. Only one judge had seen one before, and she believed the last time she saw one at a show was in 1996.
Here’s an unofficial poll. Let’s see how many of you can get this right.
What colour is the EAM’s Grading Card?
o Pink
o Red with Blue and Yellow markings
o White with EAM logo in colour
o Grading Card?
Grading points are allocated…
o After every national show
o Once a year
o Each time there is a new EAM committee
o Grading points?
The EAM’s grading system:
o Works like a charm.
o Is charming but it doesn’t work.
o Grading system?
