Bringing you Christmas balls from the Land of the Blind, and other stories.

Sentosa Entry Not To Old Saddleclub’s Acceptance.
Not all is well in the Land of the Blind. Now the famed Sentosa Riders (who?) are causing a flurry of e-mails claiming they shouldn’t be called a Sentosa Group, despite VIW negotiating an en bloc move to the Bukit Timah Saddle Club. They claim to have blended in with the rest of the members. But some senior members resent that the Sentosa Group has been favoured with their own stable block for their horses, grooms, riders and even instructor, amongst other perks.
The Sentosa Group countered that they are more loyal than original BTSC members because their kids wear the club’s t-shirts and not Sentosa t-shirts (no, really), that they are more Christianly, and that they spend more at the bar.
Yup, you can tell it’s a real Christmas spirit down there.
Wooshu, Out The Door
As fast as you can say Wushu, they are gone. Neither of the two graduates hired to run the Equestrian Federation of Singapore will stick around for Singapore’s crash-hot 2004 season (PSI and err, PSI).
Perhaps they didn’t wear the correct t-shirts.
Olympia in Thailand
We told you they were in another equestral zone. This from Singapore’s “South East Asian equestrian portal”:
Riding
in Thailand
British
riders dominated the first full day of competition at the one of the
world’s most popular horse shows and the UK’s favourite Christmas
venue,
Olympia International Show Jumping Championships, London 18th-22nd
December
2003.
Next month’s feature:
Riding in Singapore featuring the Kentucky, USA Horse Show.
Not The Annual Show
Stung by Jump-Off’s comments that the Penang Turf Club shouldn’t call their show an Annual Show if it isn’t held (duh!) annually, they countered they could indeed if they had an Annual Horse Show next year in addition to the National Horse Show. Well, the draft calendar for next year is out and whilst the National Horse Show is scheduled for June, there is no sign of an Annual Show at the Penang Turf Club.
Auf Wiedersehen, Wurst
Jump-Off bids a fond farewell to our favourite sausage who has completed her tour of duty at a certain Royal club. Goodbye Sausage. You’ve done your Wurst. We’ll miss your bright, sunny manner. Nah, let’s tell the truth: Wir vermissen Ihren Hund.
Double Win for Laras
From Mother-To-Be, Ibu Larasati Gading in Indonesia, who competed and won the Medium level class in the Limo Year-End competition at Arthayasa Stables, despite being in her 8th month of pregnancy:
“..people kept asking me when I'm going to stop riding (and competing...hahaha...), since I'm in my 34th week of pregnancy now! Upon the question how come my husband still allows me to ride, I kept joking "Well, I have him and my doctor on the bit!" And to the
comment that actually only one rider at a time is allowed on a horse, I replied that I maybe could get double score which helped me to win the class...”
