The page that thinks draw reins are for drawing lessons…
No HOSERS allowed
For those of you who read the 1st April article then sent us those e-mails and text messages saying how excited you were that some HOSERS were supposedly organizing a South East Asian Open World (SEAOW) Dressage Championship. If you were one of those who didn’t bat an eyelid about the articles numerous claims, such as riders would be allowed to compete in draw reins or side reins and even, um, heavy rain, then we have important information for you: Your subscription to Equestrian.Com.My is now overdue.
Here are your instructions. 1) Please send cash only – large denominations, used bills. 2) Do not continue to read Jump-Off as it may be damaging to your friends’ mental health. For your convenience, you may use this button to EXIT NOW.
Going, Going…
Members of the Selangor Turf Club unanimously voted to move to new premises. Perhaps they each had 10,000 sq ft. of reasons to vote for the move by a massive 90% acceptance. The club is expected to bump in to much larger premises north of Rawang in an amazingly quick 33 months from now.
He’s Toast
Poobah Emeritus of the EFS, Doc Low Hong Tong was recently re-elected Hon. Secretary of the Equestrian Federation of Singapore, only to resign all of one whole week later. It turns out that EFS President and Bukit Timah Saddle Club (BTSC) chairman Leong Horn Kee used his casting vote to select someone else to the post of Hon. Secretary of the BTSC after a tie in the ballots at the club’s AGM.
Dr. Low will continue to serve as Honorary Secretary of Thoroughbred Owners Association and Sports Trust (TOAST). We wish them the best of luck.
Surveillance Over, Doc?
In his former position of Great Grand Webmaster of the EFS Hon. Secretary, the vertically challenged Doc Low had proposed that the EFS take action against Peter Abisheganaden for writing Jump-Off, and actually put Jump-Off under surveillance. Please Doc, can you tell us if you are still keeping us under surveillance? And if so, is it because you are now looking for material to use against the EFS?
It occurred to us that if Doc Low isn’t keeping up the surveillance of Jump-Off, we could write whatever we liked about the EFS without favour or fear, that is until we realized, yup, that’s exactly what we’ve been doing all along.
Tribute to Doc
As Great Grand webmaster of the Equestrian Federation of Singapore’s website and Hon. Secretary of the island republic’s National Federation, Doc has provided Jump-Off with much material, in the process becoming Jump-Off’s first cult hero. In his reign, he has missed Asian Games entry deadlines, tried passing off a Malaysian as a Singaporean rider, affiliated his country to an FEI that he thought was a Paris-based French organization, and asked such intellectually demanding questions as, “is there is really no division between men and women in equestrian events?”
It’s no wonder that Jump-Off has a cult following. As a tribute to our champion of champions, here’s a list of Doc’s previous Jump-Off entries:
