Malaysia awarded 2006 FEI General Assembly
Thursday, April 7th, 2005

The Equestrian Association of Malaysia's bid to host the 2006 FEI General Assembly has been accepted by the Executive Committee of the FEI.

EAM Vice-President Ahmad Mustapha Hassan met with FEI Secretary General Bo Helander yesterday in London.  He is part of the small delegation from the EAM to this year's FEI General Assembly.  He confirmed that Malaysia’s bid to host the assembly next year was accepted by the FEI.  Chinese Taipei had also submitted a bid for 2006.

He told Equestrian.Com.My, "It will be held in Kuala Lumpur just after the FEI World Cup Jumping Final in April 2006.  Exact dates will be confirmed shortly. The FEI believes that more countries will attend the General Assembly if it is held around the FEI World Cup Final."

Approximately 130 countries are expected to send delegates to the FEI General Assembly in Kuala Lumpur.
