
ar-Raudhah rider Shamsuddin Roni astride Malin rode his way
to victory and first place in the grueling FEI-CEI 3 Star 160km ride in a ride time
of 14 hours 58 minutes and 3 seconds.
Shasuddin and Malin averaged a speed of 10.69 km per hour.
Over three-quarters of an hour behind was Mohd Yasser Dato’
Abd Gahani from Sabah riding Chaswyek Nahte. They finished in a riding time of 15 hrs 45 mins and
55 secs averaging 10.14 km per hour.
Shamsudin clocked in at 9:48:03 a.m. this morning, over 18 hours after the flag-off on Saturday afternoon. There were 45 minutes hold time after each of the first five phases. Riders rode through the night to beat the heat.
Shamsuddin received his trophy and top prize of RM25,000 at
the Prize Presentation Ceremony at Kuang which was presided by Royal Guest of
Honour, D.Y.M.M Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin of Terengganu Darul Iman.
Malin, Shasuddin’s mount also bagged the Best Condition
Horse Trophy and prize money of RM4,000.
Eleven horse and rider combinations representing West and
East Malaysian clubs, Brunei Darussalam and U.SA. started this event.
85 KM Ride Category
First prize went to UAE rider Tayef Ateeq Sabt Al Fallahi,
who represented the W’rsan Endurance Team of the UAE. Tayef was given the catch-ride on Mandy and
made the best of this opportunity. They finished
in a total time of 7 hours 3 minutes and 53 seconds at an average speed of
12.03km per hour.
Second place went to DYMM Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin of
Terengganu who rode Princess Jasmine.
DYMM Sultan Mizan finished in a time of 7 hours 33 minutes and 29
seconds at an average speed of 11.24 km per hour.
Third place was bagged by Che Mohd Apandi Muhamad from PENN Endurance team. He finished in a time of 7 hours 33 minutes
and 30 seconds also at an average speed of 11.24km per hour.
4th and 5th places went to Tengku
Baharuddin Bin Tengku Bahadul of Terengganu and Dato Haji Abdullah also from Terengganu
respectively. They finished in 7 hours
33 minutes 31 secs and 7 hours 33 minutes and 32 secs respectively.
World Endurance Champion Sheikh Hazza Bin Sultan Al Nahyan was a faller in this class.
40 KM Ride Category
Eight year old Roslan Osman of Terengganu, one of the two
youngest participants in the 40KM Ride Category, bagged first prize astride his
mount Silver
Eros. Young Roslan finished in an
impressive time of 3 hours 34 minutes and 27 seconds at an average speed of
11.21km per hour.
In second place was another young rider, 15 year old Nabilah
Mohd Shu’aib on Era who finished in a time of 4 hours 32 minutes 30 seconds at
an average speed of 8.79km per hour.
Third place went to Ahmad Hussein on Soomac. He finished in a time of 4 hours 39 minutes
and 27 seconds at a speed of 8.60 km per hour.
Young Riders 15 KM
Event
The first place winner of the Young Riders 15km Event was
won by 10 year old Nabihah Mohd Shu’aib who rode
Cindai. Nabihah’s total riding time was
1 hour 13 minutes and 14 seconds at a speed of 12.33 km per hour.
In second place was Mohamad Ridzwan on Eulta from Raspalena
Club. He finished in a time of 1 hour 15 minutes and 40 seconds. His average riding speed was 11.84 km per
hour.
