Malaysia cruises to another easy polo win
Saturday, December 8th, 2007

Malaysia cruised to another easy win with a 11 to 1 1/2 goal win over the Philippines.  The Malaysians were always in control, racking up  four goals in the first chukka alone.  By half-time they were 6 - 1/2 up.  The lead extended to 10 - 1/2 after the 3rd chukka.  The Philippines finally got on the board in the final chukka as Malaysia powered down their game.

In winning both their matches, Malaysia has racked up 22 goals against their unlucky opponents.  Malaysia had toyed with the idea of playing some of their reserve players, but it was finally decided by the President of RMPA, DYTM Tengku Mahkota of Pahang to stick to the winning formula from Thursday.  The Prince was on hand to watch Malaysia demolish Philippines.

In an earlier match, Singapore got off to a winning start, beating home favourites Thailand 7-5 in a bruising encounter.  Thailand scored first, but Singapore took the lead in the second chukka and never relinquished it.

Malaysia now leads the polo qualifying event with two wins from two games.
Singapore has one win. Thailand has one win (over Philippines) and one loss. Indonesia has played one match for a loss to Malaysia.

Matches continue on Sunday with Singapore playing the dark horses Indonesia in the first game, while Malaysia plays hosts Thailand in the second game of the afternoon.
