Malaysian Polo Team wins 4th match
Tuesday, December 11th, 2007

Malaysia took it easy against Singapore yet recorded its fourth consecutive win.  The 8 - 2 1/2 scoreline did not reflect just how much Malaysia dominated this match of the two unbeaten teams of the tournament.

It was a cagey match as neither team wanted to give away too much information as in all likelihood they will meet again in the final on Saturday 15th December.

Mathematically the Philippines still has a chance of overhauling Singapore if they can beat them soundly on Thursday.  Singapore on the other hand need only a draw to seal their place in the final against Malaysia.

The Philippines kept their hopes alive with a 5 - 3 1/2 win over hapless Indonesia.  The Indonesians were better mounted, but with no play-maker, they kept running down blind alleys and dead ends.  The Philippines used their experience to record their first win of the tournament.

Thursday's final round of qualifying matches sees Thailand play Indonesia, followed by Singapore vs Philippines. If Thailand beats Indonesia, the Philippines will be safe in the knowledge that even a loss to Singapore will still put them in the bronze medal match against Thailand.

As it stands currently,

Malaysia: 4 wins: 8 points
Singapore: 2 wins, 1 loss: 4 points
Thailand: 1 win, 2 losses: 2 points
Philippines: 1 win, 2 losses: 2 points
Indonesia: 3 losses: 0 points.
