Old minds are like old horses; you must exercise them if you wish to keep them in working order. ~ John Adams
Jean-Philippe’s Cabriola Performance
Less than 50%? That's a slashing
Dressage has sunk to new depths. A dressage judge had her car tyres slashed after judging at a recent dressage day. While it may or may not have been connected to her judging, the police are said to have asked the organisers if they can interview all riders who were not happy with their scores that day.
That’s everyone of course.
So Sue Me Already
Meanwhile Jump-Off has heard the amazing story of a rider who threatened to sue the show director for alleged discrepancies in her dressage score. In what world class competition was this? The World Cup Final, perhaps? No, it was a Walk-Trot test.
Yes, you guessed it. TLOTB.
Premature Ejaculation
The Stables with a View has recently had some high profile departures. Unhappy with what they called arrogant and extremely rude management, one family even pulled their horses out within 24 hours.
And to which epitome of good service and high standards did they eventually take their horses to? Yes, none other than Bukit Kiara. The irony is that when first opened, in direct contrast to Kiara, the Stables with a View touted themselves as the club that would really cater to members.
Go Jogo Go
Bukit Kiara has had some high profile departures recently too. Did someone say “Jogo has to go-jo” or did they decide Kuang was a better place to play polo?
Hon. Error
EAM Hon. Treasurer Dr K was seen staring for quite a while at an error message on the screen of his laptop. Perhaps he was trying to locate the EAM accounts?
Fit For A King
Is the EAM finally to have an AGM or an NS-AGM as it was proposed in Equestrian.Com.My’s AF2 article? And a right royal affair it threatens to be too. Jump-Off has been tipped off that KDYMM Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin, Malaysia’s 13th Yang di-Pertuan Agong has been invited. So has HRH Princess Haya, President of the Federation Equestre Internationale, and Alex McLin, FEI’s Secretary-General.
Presumably they all want to have tea with our EAM PFL.
While the Mayor of Melinsung-Auschwitz has not been invited to attend, PETA are said to be planning to gatecrash the party.
Perhaps it just wasn’t visiting hours.
A man rode a horse into a hospital. "The man appeared intoxicated at the time". Whoa, alcohol was involved?
Get My Luggage
What about the obviously concussed polo player who drove his fully loaded float to a 5-Star hotel in Manila, Philippines. As he tried to check in, he pointed at the float and told the bell-hops to get his “luggage”.
Crazy Celebs
These celebrities are so crazy and unconventional, aren't they? Girls Aloud singer Sarah Harding has apparently got engaged to her DJ boyfriend Tom Crane after he proposed, not with a diamond ring, but with a horse. Bet she'll have trouble walking around with that on her finger.
Dumb Streaker
This blithering idiot put the lives of the jockeys at risk by trying to race the horses over the line at Moruya racetrack in Australia. The leading horse is clearly checks, is thrown off balance and strikes the running rail. Not very funny.
Truism that Real Riders Know
If you've ever been at a show and had to rush off to a squattie, you'll know this is absolutely true.
