Thailand's Dressage Extravaganza
Sunday, May 18th, 2008

The Dressage Extravaganza 2008 is a new yearly event that was recently held at Equestrian Paradice, Thailand.  Nine different clubs from all over Thailand participated in the show.  The official dressage judge was Ms Lorraine Bottreau from Malaysia.

First class of the show, the Vetplus Elementary had 13 starters, which was almost a record for Thailand to have that many riders at that level.  Katharina Lauritano (pic above right) and her lovely Hanoverian gelding Gino from Nonthaburi Equestrian Center (NESC) took the winning blue ribbon with total of 68.95%.  In second place very close with 68.68% ,  Aadahls’ Tango and Mrs. Karen Wainright from the Horse Lover’s Club.  Third place went to Mrs. Laurel Peters and Wish from NESC with 68.16%.  All placed riders were awarded with Vetplus’ Racing fast feed.

The second class of the first day the L’Occitane’s Preliminary Level combined with a special Junior Award of St. Andrews Riding Club had 22 riders. Clearly in front with 72.5% St.Andrews rider Michelle Claas and her pony Daisy (pic right). They won 3,000 Baht as well for the Junior Award.  All placings got a Skin Care gift set from L’Occitane.

2nd Preechaya Suthirak/Puff-NESC/71.25%
3rd Mari Parino-Sophia/St.Andrews/69.58%

The 2 Stallion’s Caprilli 1 was one highlight of the day and 15 riders proved themselves to have control, rhythm and a good jumping style. The Caprilli could be compared with a kind of Equitation Jumping class combined with a Novice Level Dressage Test.  In the Winner’s circle again Michelle and her pony Daisy with 75.2 %.  Pichaiyut Samutsarn and Bossanaova from the Golden Horse Riding Club got 2.place.  The 2 Stallion’s Tack shop sponsored the class with Bandages and Horse Care products for the first 6 placing.

Class number 5, the ACGS Medium Level had 3 placing. Kyra Virulchanya
on Horse Lover’s Rimsky won the 5,000Baht price money and a supplement sponsored by ACGS Limited.

The highlight of the show, Class 11 LBG Limited Prix St.George had unfortunately only 2 starters but the highest prize money of all classes.10,000 Baht to the winner, generously sponsored by LBG Limited.  It was Kyra on Rimsky again who took her chance and beat her companion Praditha Thitathan  from the Horse Lovers.  Both riders got additional nice Skin Care Sets from L’Occitane.
