It is not enough for a man to know how to ride; he must know how to fall.  ~ Mexican Proverb

We love you, Miiikkeeeeeeeee

This is a classic chase scene from the Filipino movie “Forever”, starring 2002 Asian Games showjumping gold medalist Mikee Cojuangco.  Check out when she mounts up and rides off.  Is the horse a little cold backed?

EAM AGM Called

No doubt the cajoling and the fun we have poked at the EAM had no effect whatsoever in their decision to call their first Annual General Meeting in three years.   An AGM has been called for 17th July 2008, their first since June 2005.

Annual HK World Cups

One year after promising the FEI that they would hold South East Asian World Cups “annually”, Jump-Off finds that the HKEF has learnt the EAM definition of the word "annual".  There are no SEA League World Cups scheduled in Hong Kong.

Polo Porn

An Argentinean professional polo player who was in Malaysia to play the RMPA International Polo League kept pestering his buddies to take him to buy a top level video recorder.  So insistent was he that they soon realized he wanted it for professional purposes – he was a director and star of several movies.  Not that we will ever be able to find these movies in our video stores.  They are of the *ahem* adult kind.

Macha’s Madness

Old Macha has hit the sauce again, and hard. Everyone at Sukma knew when he had had his daily dose by his erratic behaviour.  We shuddered when he insisted on driving his Sukma kids around.  Now that the games are over and his team won nothing significant, he has decided it is the officials’ fault.  He phones games officials, inebriated, and berates them for getting the “wrong result”.  It’s hard to see the truth when you are blind drunk.

Tied Up

Lightning - a Bay Mare, age uncertain.  A leg in each corner.  Sound.  Very quiet amongst other horses.  Stands well in pony lines.

Parade Position

Did anyone notice that the 48 horses and riders in the WEC Parade were sandwiched between the DBKL Enforcement and the Prisons Band.   Presumably if anything went wrong in the parade, the enforcement boys would have booked them and the prison boys would have locked them up.

Podium Peeve

Was the PFL peeved he wasn’t on the main podium of the WEC Parade?  He didn’t hang about when he found he was seated way out of camera view.

Reality Bites

The Assistant to the Executive Secretary of the EAM is looking for an assistant.  The Boy Wonder not only thinks he works, he thinks he needs an assistant.  Yes, you read that right, he said “assistant”, not assistance, which is what Jump-Off thinks he needs in his reality check.

Royal Polo in TLOTB

Has anyone seen the new polo club in TLOTB?

Jordan’s Olympic Dream

Katie Price, formerly known as Jordan has recently taken up polo and declared she wants to ride dressage at the 2012 London Olympics.   Can Katie really ride?  Check out Horse & Hound's video of her here.

Big Brown Mess

Did Big Brown lose the Triple Crown because of a loose shoe?  Or was it because he hadn’t had his steroids?

The Lavender League

What can we say about gay polo?  Perhaps it is closer to home than TLOTB realizes.

Lightning Strikes Polo Players

Like a true polo player, John Krigiee drove home after being struck by lightning.  He does not play in the Lavender League.
