Ice ices L'Occitane CCI* Pattaya International
Sunday, October 26th, 2008

Thailand's Promton Kingwan (pic right), better known as "Ice" was the big winner of the L'Occitane CCI* Pattaya International Three-Day Event. Malaysia's Mohd Aizat took 2nd place ahead of Japan's Keiichiro Nagamatsu, with Mohd Nabil Fikri Ismail (MAS) in 4th place.

Twelve started the Thai Baht 1 million event, with seven finishing it. Weerapat Pitakanonda led after an exciting cross-country day but Bomb "bombed" out when his horse was vetted out.   Australia's Claudia Graham did not present the aged Perfect Plan for the final trot-up.

Malaysia's CSI debutant Mohd Anwar was eliminated in the cross-country.  He had a good start to the cross-country but his inexperience showed as galloped Beefeater to the water complex with too much speed.  They somehow made it through but hit the small fence three strides after of the water.  Beefeater somehow stayed on his feet, but Anwar was eliminated for a fall.

Mohd Aizat had Serious Fun in the event.  Finishing in 2nd place is the best international result that Aizat has ever had.

Adelaide CCI 4-Star course designer Wayne Copping designed the picturesque cross country track for the cross-country at Harald Link's Thai Polo & Equestrian Club.

Swiss legend Paul Weier deisgned the showjumping phase of the L'Occitane CCI*.

The showjumping phase was completed today despite heavy rain knocking out power in parts of Pattaya.  The footing was unaffcted at Thai Polo & Equestrian Club's newly laid Derby arena, which was also used for all the showjumping classes at this event.  It included the Thailand leg of the FEI World Jumping Challenge and the Thai Polo Derby.

Equestrian.Com.My hopes to bring you full results of this wonderful event.
