Starhub Singapore National Dressage Championship ‘09

The annual Starhub Singapore National Dressage Championship came to a beautiful closure on Sunday, 24 May 09, under the sound of clinking champagne flutes and fanatical cheers of joy for the competitors.
The two days Championship kicked-start in a fine weathered Saturday, with riders from Bukit Timah Saddle Club and the Singapore Polo Club vying for the Championship titles in the Preliminary, Novice, Elementary, Medium, and FEI Small Tour classes respectively. We are proud to have visits from two distinguished equestrians, Mr Peter Holler (GER) and Ms Alison King (THA) to be our honorary judges for the event.
In total, there were 26 competitors challenging for the top positions in the Championships.
With Saturday’s dressage challenge coming to an end, Sunday’s challenge started off with hyped-up music to the categories of freestyle-to-music, with Chua Wen Hui and Kosta trotting on as the first competitor. Beautifully paired participants trotted away with fanciful dance steps that took the breath away from the judges and audiences.
Concluding the annually-held Starhub National Dressage Championship for the year 2009, audiences eye-feasted in our preview of the National Jumping Finals that is slated to happen in June ‘09, with show jumping classes conducted in the balmy afternoon weather.
The Starhub National Dressage Championship 2009 ended on a beautiful note with the sponsors and members gracing the prize presentation cum dinner celebration in the laid-back twilight.
