MALAYSIAN equestrian rider Syazna Leena Zulhasnan Rafique celebrated a joyous Champions Voyage victory  in the show jumping category  of the Sri Piala Perdana 2009 last night. The 20-year-old was also a gold medallist in the show jumping team event at the Korat Sea Games in 2007. Currently, she is pursuing a law degree in London.

How do you feel about winning this championship?

This victory is a big motivation for me to continue in the sport. I am glad that I came out victorious. I feel proud of that but at the same time I have a lot more to learn.

How do you plan your time as you are still pursuing law and at the same  time being active in equestrian?

Education is important but at the same time equestrian has become an important aspect of my daily life. I have been riding horses since I was 10, so I have become used to it. I divide my time for both and I seem to be managing just fine.

What are your aims at the moment and your future plans?

My aim is to improve on my riding technique and prepare for future competitions. I also want to represent Malaysia in next year's Asian Games in China and the Sea Games in two years.
